Do you think its important to have starting lore in an MMORPG to understand why you are where you are or are you the type to skip through starting lore? Please expand on your answers! @defendthenight #defendthenight #indiedev #MMORPG

Yes it is very important to know what's going on, at least a little bit in the start. I also like engaging lore. Granted, sometimes you don't feel like reading through it though, I know I sometimes skip through it

I like to feel a purpose for what I am doing and for the world to feel alive. If the lore and backstory are done well, this really helps with that. However, having to just sit and read walls of quest text isn't my thing and doesn't draw me in. I need to see it move and breath. Using other ways such as "cut scenes" and NPCs who speak to you, etc. immerse me into the lore more than reading a speech baloon above a guys head.

I agree with Rev. It isn't the engaging to read walls of text. Voice acting helps with that.
